Coral Reef

Diving and snorkelling sites are abundant in Samoa. Explore the colourful marine life at the many Samoan islands and be amazed at the pristine coral reefs.

Palolo Deep Marine Reserve

Only five minutes' walk from the city centre of Apia, the marine reserve boasts a wealth of coral and tropical fish to accompany you while diving. Basic shower and change room facilities are available. The reserve is open daily from 8am to 6pm.

Manono Island

Only a 20-minute boat ride from Upolu, this island is home to four villages, Faleu, Lepuia'i, Apai and Salua. Snorkel in one of Samoa’s best lagoons and complete your day by exploring the local villages. Breathtaking landscapes, panoramic views and stunning sunsets await on this island.

Apolima Island

This volcanic island is the smallest of Samoa’s inhabited islands. It is situated in Apolima Strait between the largest islands of Upolu and Savai'i. The island is home to only one village, Apolia Tai, making it one of the more private Samoan islands. To snorkel, remember to bring your own snorkelling gear.

Nu'utele

An island with a volcanic tuff ring, Nu’utele is located 13 kilometers off the eastern end of Upolu. Together with Nu'ulua, it is a conservation area for native species of birds. Enjoy the underwater biodiversity of the Samoan Islands from the time you make your way to the island by canoe. Experienced divers can head here, while beginners are more suited to the Manono Island or Apolima Island waters, the safest snorkelling sites in Samoa.

Lalomanu Beach

Known as one of Samoa's most pristine beaches, this beach is a sight you should not miss on your trip to Samoa. The soft white sand beach is perfect for holidaygoers seeking the idyllic beach to relax on. The crystal clear blue waters, extending all the way to Lotofaga across the south coast, is a marine reserve boasting an endless spectrum of tropical fauna that will give you unforgettable diving and snorkelling experiences.
